A short story connected both What its Like to Fly and the sequel, When its Time to Fight

Peter and Olly Marctin are brothers in the lowest social class in the city of Arroyo, the Mines. There, they mine for Ciber Crystals, that supposedly power the city. But Peter and Olly discover a dangerous part of the truth, leading to Peter's arrest. Desperate to bring their family back together, Olly and their Dad, Armon, each set out to rescue Peter from the Mansion, where the rulers of Arroyo reside. Will they find Peter and reunite their family? Will Peter uncover the truth about the Crystals? Or will they be separated forever, doomed to die at the bottom of the largest prison, the Gorge.

Peter, Olly and the gang venture deeper and deeper in to the Gorge and face new challenges to their family bonds, social ties and powered abilities, while facing off against witches, rock monsters, and other creatures that inhabit the Gorge along with Commander Thaddius who will stop at nothing to stop the boys from sparking a revolution that will change Arroyo City and it's history, forever.
