“5:48 is home for the lost.” Ezra says simply. He smiles at me with such warmth, that I’m taken aback. And I realize that for the first time in my life, I am home. I’d been lost. I’d been drowning and suffocating, but Ezra has somehow managed to pull me to shore and save me.
So, with a strange light-hearted feeling, I offer Ezra a small smile. It’s my first one in weeks, and it confirms that I am, indeed, home.
