There's been some controversy on whether a Cars 4 is actually coming out, so regardless of whether it does or not, I'm writing my own, bc I know a lot of us aren't too happy with how Cars 3 ended, so I'm going to try and smooth it out. Writing out complicated feelings is my business. In the aftermath of changing his career, Lightning thinks everything is on the right track after days of agonizing uncertainty. But deep inside, he isn't ready to let go yet, and the light of his mistakes, recent and long ago, seems unwilling to let him be. With the help of Francesco's nurse, Glamrock Freddy, the staff arrange for the couple to marry the next day, but Lightning's attempt to halt a street fight leads to the death of Francesco's own cousin, Caesar, for which Lightning is banished. In a desperate attempt to be reunited with Lightning, Francesco follows the Friar Blevins' plot and fakes his own death. The message fails to reach Lightning, and believing Francesco dead, he takes his life in her tomb. Francesco wakes to find Lightning's corpse beside him and kills himself. The grieving family agree to end their feud.
