waar de wereld is verdeeld in twee delen, de vuur en de ijsnatie, is vrede wat niet te vinden valt. ik merkte weinig van de oorlog, tot mijn zusje mij verraadde. ik bezat de gaven en wordt daarom gelijk naar het kasteel vervoerd om daar te trainen tot ik strijder van hoogste rang ben. maar naast dat ik de enige meisje ben heeft de prins van ons natie een hekel aan mij. ik heb altijd geleerd dat hij gevaarlijk is. niet te vertrouwen is. geen liefde kent. dat haat zijn hart vult. maar wat als dat niet klopt, wat als hij wel liefde kent. wat als die liefde wordt gevoeld voor mij?
