Odela is een meisje die in de middeleeuwen is geboren. Ze is 1614 jaar oud, zij is een van de oudste vampieren, ze heeft hierdoor ook wat speciale gaven, maar dat weet ze zelf ook nog niet, want die krijgt ze pas op haar 1615e verjaardag. Odela is vanaf haar 17e jaar al een vampier. Ze moest haar geheim altijd voor zichzelf houden. Ze heeft vaak haar naam moeten veranderen zodat niemand erachter kwam dat ze een vampier is, dus haar naam nu is Roosmarijn Molenaar, maar haar vrienden noemen haar Roos. Ze moet ook vaak verhuizen omdat anders iedereen merkt dat ze niet ouder wordt. Ze zit in het lichaam van een 17 jarige, maar iedereen denkt dat ze ouder is. Roos verhuist net naar het stadje Giethoorn, Het ligt helemaal in het water. Als ze haar eerst dag op school begint merkt ze al snel op dat het een all-boys school zit. Ze moet uitkijken dat ze niet verliefd wordt, want ze kan daar toch niet voor altijd blijven, maar wat als het wel gebeurt. Er zitten alleen maar jongens op haar school, dus dat betekent dat ze ook een jongen als kamergenoot heeft, hoe gaat Roos om met deze veranderingen en komt iemand achter het geheim van Roos?

Dit boek gaat over hoe een groep vrienden een moeilijke taak krijgen. De vriendengroep valt apart maar er worden ook hechte banden gevormd. Wanneer Leigh-Anne op het feestje van Jasper een rare avond krijgt veranderd er veel voor haar. Ze krijgt geheimen en problemen die ze niet wilt. Vanaf dat moment veranderd de vriendengroep.
