Due to the recent virus outbreak, badminton season is cancelled. Over the course of this year, I and along with my friends had developed new strengths in the sport and were excited to show them off in games and tournaments. Unfortunately, that won't be happening this year and next year the grade eights will graduate off to high school. As a team, we got along so well and had fun. Hanetsuki is based off real people in real life. The flashbacks are also based off of true moments that had happened. However, the current plot of Hanetsuki is how I imagined this years badminton team to go. Thank you, Mr. McNaughton and Mrs. Bosanjak who chose me to be on the official school's badminton team last year. Although I wasn't any good, you both encouraged and assisted me with advice when needed. You both helped me find a sport that I enjoyed to play competitively and love to play for fun, and for that I'm grateful. Dear eighth graders, I'm sorry that you guys didn't get those last few months of moments of you all having fun going out with your friends. I wished this season didn't get cancelled because I was hyped to play with you guys again. The season last year was insane, I loved playing with you all. I'm sorry you guys are missing out on your graduation trip, graduation dance and graduation itself. This year was supposed to be your best year. I never even got to say goodbye to any of you in person before you guys graduate to high school and we all go our separate ways.
