Trigger Warnings: Attempted suicide, Alcoholism, and Depression. I just got a new Switch Lite and Pokemon Sword for my birthday earlier this month and I am absolutely in love with the main character's rival, Hop. I think he's sweet and I love his drive, and I definitely ship him with the main character (guy or girl). Ships in this story: Hop x FemMC/OC, Raihan x Leon, Marnie x OC I only claim rights to the main plot points of this story and the OCs. Everything else is owned by GameFreak/Nintendo/The Pokemon Company/Etc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurelie was born in Kalos, but at a young age she moved to Galar with no one but her mother and her froakie, Ace. In the little town of Postwick where Aurelie and her mother had moved, she made a few friends as she grew up. Hop, Hop's older brother Leon, and another kid who moved there from Unova - Lee. Life changed when they all joined the gym challenge to defeat Leon. Life changed again, when Aurelie became the Champion and the country of Galar was left to her. It had been 6 years since she had become Champion, and the world had moved on. Lee became the new eighth gym leader, taking over for Raihan. Hop was on his way to becoming a full-fledged pokemon professor, and Aurelie is settled in to her life as the Champion - at least, that's what everybody thought. The truth of the matter was, Aurelie was miserable. Everyone had gone off to do their own thing, live their own lives, and she feels like she was left behind, bound by the oath she made as Champion. The days were the same, day in and day out, and she took to a bottle more often than not to help deal with the pain. She missed the world when she was younger, when the man she loved was around and she could enjoy his company. She was alone, but alive. At least for now.

Hop is aspiring to train and be just like his big brother, but, he has a long way to go. While on his training journey, he comes across another young trainer named Sachie. What will happen when they decide to train together?

I've always had a head cannon that the people in the Pokemon world gravitate to a certain type. It's my reason for gym leaders and elite four only using Pokemon of a specific type. So why not write a story following this premise? I do not own Pokémon, if I did I wouldn't be writing this in a dark room with a gay lamp flashing so rapidly it would give someone with epilepsy a seizure. I'm probably gonna make typos and errors in this, if I do please correct me. I'll be asking readers for advice too.
