Ophelia. That's my name. I wouldn't describe my childhood as bright and cheery considering my fathers death was plastered on every television I walked by. I decided to go into a familiar line of work as a Forensic Scientist not expecting this job would lead me to my sisters house with her blood smeared everywhere. Sam, my assistant and best friend, decided with me to use our own convictions for this death. My sister had a daughter who went missing, we just assumed we knew who the murderer was. I'd say that was my first of many indiscretions to come. I made an assumption. Had an idea of this specific person who kidnapped my niece after murdering my sister, that would mean they were the cause of all the other murders, 10 and counting. Once we got to the town that no one had ever heard of to look for a man who coincidentally no one ever heard from. My car breaks down...dozens of kids staringfrom across the street, and something deeply rooted inside me awakens. Something I don't recognize and can't explain. Intuition? Strength? Courage? That awakening would mark the beginning of my demise.. I never thought I would regret searching for my family's truth but I guess every story needs a twist.
