Morningshine always felt like a mess up. A fail, an unloved, unwanted piece of trash. She was pushed around, and scolded to no end. Until Mapleshade came. Mapleshade, her savior, her praise, her mother when she had no mother. She loved her, and cheered her on when Aquastar resented her and hated her. Mapleshade made her stronger, trained her, until she made her way up to deputyship, just as Mapleshade had promised. Then to leadership, when Mapleshade came to betray her. Gilakit and Sunsetkit are born to the evil Morningstar at the height of her reign. Gilakit, twice the size of his sister, strong and muscled, is favored over his small, much gentler framed sister. Gilakit hates this, and as he grows into apprenticeship, his resentment for his mother grows. Then he meets, Wishkit a very kind and shy she cat. Gilapaw and Wishkit grow closer in friendship, and train together secretly.
