We have all heard the saying that nothing worth having comes easy, that no pain equals no gain, but my personal favourite is the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. Those quotes are always followed up with stories of people who fight against great odds, and still find a way to somehow rise above them. However, those tales only skirt our subconscious boundaries. They never truly touch on the depravity of humans, for most of those tales never venture into the dark. So what happens when one of those stories steps into the light? Park Min-joon must navigate the harsh realities of life while shouldering the burden of generational trauma. Driven by a fierce desperation, he fights his way from the forgotten slums of Korea to the packed stadiums in L.A. One lucky moment becomes the opportunity that can drag him out of a life very few people get to escape. Rose doesn't flinch from the darkness that clings to him, not because she's afraid but because she understands that survival has a cost and some people are forced to pay it in full.
