After witnessing her husband's murder from a group of mercenarys from England, leaving her a widow with 2 young children, Sykkia sets off to Kattegat to seek out a childhood friend for help. Ivar the boneless. King of Kattegat. Her home town was long gone now leaving her heart a wreck and her spirit on the brink of breaking. Ivar feels a spark for her immediately, one he felt years ago as a kid. He promises to help her get revenge for her husband and takes her into his home. With two young kids Sykkia knows they need a father and she starts to think Ivar might just be that to them. They take a liking to the angry viking king and somehow manage to bring a smile to his face. She starts to feel something towards him that she had long forgotton over the years. Will Ivar be able to help heal her heart and put her mind at ease? He hopes so as he asks her to be his Queen. Will Sykkia be able to say yes for her children and maybe her own heart? And will she be able to avenge her husband and bring her lands and Kattegat toghether?

The gods work in funny ways, magical ways perhaps. Sometimes impossible things can happen which is exactly what happened to Gwenllian. As if she was needed in a time that was not her own the gods brought her back to the 700's and placed her down right outside Kattegat to forge her a new destiny.
