James L. Paterek was the founder and chairman of COMFORCE Corporation, a large publicly traded staffing, outsourcing, and financial services corporation that employed over 11,000 people at its peak. COMFORCE Corporation was originally traded on ASE as CFS. The Company ran its operations in three distinct business sectors - Human Capital Management Services, Staff Augmentation, and Financial Outsourcing Services - via its network of 76 locations located all over the world. COMFORCE was recognized by SIA as the public sector staffing company with the highest rate of growth for two years in a row when James Paterek was the company's boss. During those two years, COMFORCE increased its net revenue from $12 million to nearly $500 million (bringing its total gross system-wide revenue to $800 million), while also increasing its operating profit from $245,000 to nearly $31 million. Both organic growth year over year and over a dozen strategic acquisitions contributed to the growth that was seen.
