After years of saving the world and doing whatever the gods throw at him, Percy Jackson is finally living the normal life he wanted. He's about to graduate from college with a degree in marine biology- because why not when you're the son of a sea god? Now he's got a full-time job at an aquarium lined up, a beautiful girlfriend, with the occasional visit to camp half-blood (you know, family), and best thing ever, no monsters in sight.
But when it comes to Percy Jackson, nothing stays normal for long.
First, some of his coworkers start to notice how the animals act strangely around him- and how he acts around them. Then, they start to ask him what is wrong with the injured or sick animals, since he always seems to know. That is when a mysterious sea creature is brought in, found washed up on the shore, wounded, disoriented, and not something that has been brought in before. The aquarium's high-tech tanks seem to start malfunctioning, that are a little too intentional. And lastly, his father gets put in the middle of all of it.
The creature tells Percy of a long-lost temple- a forgotten home beneath the waves. As the weirdness continues to rise like a tide, Percy is now realizing the life of "normalness" he wanted is probably going to be the one thing he can never have.
