On an island completely surrounded by water, three species live together peacefully. The land, ruled by the Sabertooth kingdom, is plush with life and covered in many jungles and plains. The Sabers, the nickname of the Sabertooth kingdom, had the uncanny ability to transform from tigers into humans. The skies were ruled by the Fairies, creatures that looked exactly like humans only with wings. Their kingdom was hidden amongst the skies, within the clouds. Clouds that once hid dragons that flew with the fairies, or so the legend says. The seas along the shores were ruled by the Mermaids and Mermen, aquatic being's that have the ability to transform their tail into legs. Their glorious underwater kingdom was called the Mermail Kingdom. Kagura Mikazuchi is the current princess to the Mermail kingdom, her father being the king. Life is going well, until they find a raft coming in from the near-infinite sea. Aboard the raft is a male, unconscious but alive. He looks as if he's been at sea for quite sometime, but something catches her eye: His clothes are seared and clawed, as if he's come into contact with a dragon. Now, with this new and mysterious arrival, all of the "legends" that were all once stories were now brought into play. Demons begin sieging Fiore, their assault relentless and unmerciful. Kagura learns why demons have begun to assault their lands. Once she does, she has to make a near impossible decision and accept her fate as a mermaid. Or does she?
