Sometimes metaphors take us a little too far. I love metaphors. I'm a very metaphorical person, and I consider myself extremely complex. Some people tell me that simple can be better, so I wrote a poem about it. Metaphors are my great friends, but the expectations in them can make them our enemies.

Following a dark night five years ago, the Kingdom of Asterya's memory is erased. Valeria, living in a remote village with her mind completely blank, is determined to discover who she is and the reason behind the unquenchable fire in her soul. Meanwhile, at the palace, Aris, the kingdom's most loyal knight, senses that the princess he swore to protect is a "lie," yet he is on a quest to recall the true face that will melt the ice in his heart. For Aris, failure means serving an illusion that has been the murderer of his soul for his entire life. Minds may be erased, but can the soul's memory be destroyed? Is a kingdom prepared to tear down the lie upon which it was built and be buried beneath the ruins of reality? And when the ancient bond between Aris and Valeria is reignited, will Asterya-which has been lulled by a false light-be able to withstand the scorching heat of the true sun?
