In the fictional town of Harmon, Illinois in 1986 a mother, brother, and four friends as well as other locals try to find a missing boy who vanished into thin air after seeing something horrifying in his backyard.

Elaine is a young girl living in a small town in Michigan. Life is quite calm for Elaine. That is until one fateful night that changes everything. She's attacked by something that perplexes her, and the police officers that are trying to investigate her case. Now no one believes her about what she'd seen, not even her own parents. Elaine begins to doubt her sanity. Then suddenly someone offers her clarity. Will finding the truth change things for the better? Or the worse?
