I watched as her eyes lit up with fear and her body tensed in my jacket. "You can't let them take me, you can't let them Jacob!" She exclaimed. "What? Who are you talking about?" She was scared, and I still didn't know why. She wasn't opening up about anything and I didn't expect her to any time soon. She gripped my shoulders and leaned towards me. "Promise me, you won't let them take me." I was utterly shocked. "You're safe here." I said, reassuring her. Even though I wasn't clear on who 'they' were or how safe she would be here. She was completely terrified.
