This is my retelling of the third crusade.

The year is 1189, and Richard the Lionheart reigns as King of England. But the story behind his titular legacy is a shared one; it's the story of a compassionate King weakened by illness and a valiant girl who is held back by her gender. Together, the pair who share a secret that could change history create a legend, a myth: the tale of a great King and the woman who fought in his stead. Lionheart tells the story of a protective, instinctual love, of valor, and what it means to have the heart of a lion. This story was inspired by Of Monsters and Men's album "My Head is an Animal".
