Loading Game... Building Sceneries... Creating- romance? Parallel. It's a common word. You can probably hear your math teacher screaming that word in a kid's face, can't you? However, that won't be the case here. This is about parallel worlds. For Meredith and Lukas, they didn't find that out so quickly. Bullied and shunned for being the daughter of two famous and quite elite people, the students in Meredith Tanner's high school drove her off the cliff, resulting in therapy sessions once a week. Lukas James was in a different situation. He dropped out of high school (which disappointed his parents) and became a YouTuber, live-streaming games of generation A to Z. The two depressive teenagers didn't expect anything to change. She would continue therapy and never recover from the bullying and screeching suicidal thoughts, remaining as her high school's social outcast. He would continue to disappoint his parents by streaming on YouTube for attention instead of getting an education like his sisters. That's until a game changed their lives. "Parallel". The game was released, becoming #1 on the top gaming charts, which fancied both the teens' interests. Lukas was requested to play this game upon his subscribers. Meredith was requested to play this game in hopes of raising her socialization. However, something behind the game was unlike any level to pass- something dangerous. One game. That's what destiny was betting on. Two individuals. That's what destiny pitched in on. One unfortunate love story. That's what destiny never calculated. ~~~ "Love is a game, Lukas. You're barely making it past Level One! This isn't a labyrinth, stupid. It's a straight hall with different doors, and you keep opening those doors and refuse to walk forward." "I refuse to walk forward..." I repeated in a murmur, hanging my head low. She's right. I keep telling myself I can't go there; it's off limits. But I can see the end of the hall.

Paris. The city of lights. The city of love. The city where Samuel Gavin Hernandez is located. Working in a small corner coffee shop, his job wasn't all that bad. Besides inhaling the smoke of men outside the shop and the annoying flirty baristas he had to keep in check, his job motivated his life. He was working there to be able to raise enough money to fly to America, specifically where his sister Olivia Hernandez lived. After receiving news that his condition was getting better, Sam could almost see his future. Almost. If it wasn't for trying to earn money and working late shifts for said money, his condition would have stayed the same. But now, he had to make a choice. Leave work and live a better life. Or, keep working, live with his sister, but possibly risk the idea of a home. Sam doesn't want to make this decision. As time flies past him, he lets a girl he usually serves at the shop stay with him at his apartment because she ran away from her rich family. Noticing how he differs from others, she offers him help. She has a dream to work as a famous designer in America, and if the two worked together, they'd both get what they want. This is a book of an adolescent trying to find a home, no matter the cost; life or limb, danger or abandonment. But what if something interfered with their story? Would he find his home? Would she find her freedom? We wouldn't know. And with that, let's get the story going, shall we? Let's find home. ~~~ Fuck. I promised after my bitch ex that I wouldn't fall. But guess who's been pushed off the cliff? This stupid little shit. "Though," Rebecca continued, her left hand to her mouth to hold in a giggle, "you don't seem like a romantic type. So, I hope I've fallen righteously." As I looked down at her, my gaze lowered to stare at her beautiful eyes. My hand moved to hold hers, our fingers lacing together. I hope so too.

Normal isn't a term Olivia Hernandez is familiar with. Her mother is dead to an abnormal disease, leaving her wallowing in scattered memories. Her father is abusive and never sober, leaving her treading through glass shards of beer bottles. There's too many unclear secrets her family has, and so she can only act as if that's "normal". Her eyes are bright, and yet, her skin is littered in scars. Olivia meets Alex James, the son of her mother's best friend. And where do they meet? A graveyard. How oddly compelling. When the two find each other at her mother's grave, Olivia can't help but feel close to him, even with his harsh and yet somewhat caring atmosphere. Not only are his pretty bluebell eyes alarmingly alluring, but the memories he brings back to her are even more appealing. They had a hidden past, tied together by Olivia's deceased mother and toxic father. They had a hazy future, tied together by Alex's bastard of a father and Olivia's childhood nemesis. This was their reality. A reality for a boy with the prettiest bluebell eyes and a girl who would forever be a scarred beauty. ~~~ "You told me that you loved me," I said quietly as we walked across the golden fields, out of the nightmare of a territory. I peered at him to see his eyes half-closed, as if he was fighting and struggling to keep them open. "You told me to trust you." His blue eyes glanced at me for a moment before falling back to the ground. The sun began rising behind us as we continued on our path, shining rays of gold and orange light on us. I sniffled and smiled lightly, but it was without humor. "But I don't know if I can keep this up anymore..." [ DISCLAIMER: This concept was developed during my middle school years. The plot may be seriously underdeveloped, so unless you aren't looking to read a picture-perfect book, you're not where you should be. ]
