"Shorts" is a collection of stories that begged to be written in a shorter form. Elena was her name. The motherless girl who lived on the hill. It's not her fault, of course. It was her mother's. She was the one who left; she walked into the forest to run with the Fae instead of raising her baby girl. She left the girl's father to raise a small child on his own. The ones in the town felt bad, yet they did nothing to help, which caused a rift between them and the town. When she started school, the teacher gave her harder assignments than her classmates even when she said she was confused and wanted help. But she never bothered her father about it, though. She felt like she was already a burden because of how she looked. Everyone said she looked like her mother. Her mother this, her mother that. She never got a break from it. The forest seemed so tempting, but she thought that she was enough like her mother. She had enough in common with her, she didn't want to run away too. However, that suddenly seemed irrelevant when she saw a pair of green eyes watching her from the shadows of the trees.
