On a regular day for once in the town of Hawkins, Billy Hardgrove enters the bank, only to get in the middle of a robbery in progress and be shot. While lying on the ground slowly dying in the chaos around him, Billy's mind only goes to one person: Steve.

If no one knew this small town had secrets, if his parents cared- hell, if /someone/ actually gave a shit, maybe he wouldn't be here. Being used like the punching bag he'd become.

He wished he had taken the time to study a map or something briefly before he hightailed it out of Hawkins, but the highway's just stretching on the more he looks ahead and with it, the unknown new future for him and the kid. Song: Me and Emily (Rachel Proctor)
