Sophie Smith is your typical twenty-something. She is fresh out of college - and fresh out of ideas. She is in the midst of finishing up her law school applications, wondering what the so-called "real world" has in store for her, while simultaneously dealing with the antics of her bodacious older sister. She feels like she is standing at the edge of a cliff, staring into the unknown, and law school might just be another way to put off the real world for as long as possible. She is confused, lonely, and snarky; dealing with the tumultuous times everyone experiences in their young twenties. This is all interrupted, however, when Sophie is forced to come face-to-face with a past she never knew she had, a newly discovered realm of magical creatures, and a charming, unearthly boy that could threaten all she has ever known. Now, instead of conquering her fears and stresses about adult life, Sophie must save a realm she never knew existed in order to protect the only home she has ever known.
