Charlie Locksmith has grown up in an average home in San Diego, California with his father. During summer vacation, he has a run-in with a strange man in a skeleton mask and discovers he's a Reaper. Reapers are protectors of the boundary between a world filled with monsters and the human and demon worlds. After discovering his power, Charlie is enrolled in Elizabeth Mortems Secondary Boarding School in the demon world where he can receive Reaper training while continuing his education. Being the only human at a demon school, he's shocked when he makes new friends and demons seem to like him. Things are going better for him than back in the human world until monsters start breaking through the boundary aiming to rip him apart. Discovering the truth behind the monster attacks will set off a chain of events that Charlie isn't prepared for. Events that he never could have imagined.
