I DO NOT OWN Death Note it belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. As Kyle grew up her parents way of acting towards her changed, soon they started to abuse and cut her. One night as Kyles mom goes off on a tangent and almost kills her daughter, grief stricken her mother's eyes where opened enough to confess and they lost their daughter. In a lack of blood situation, Kyle passes out and awakens in a hospital to meet Watari and L himself. Kyle changes her name soon to Variel and goes with them. Story also includes two other OC's Axel and Hiromi.

Starting a new school in Year 13 is tough, especially when you don't know anyone. Bummer that Variel Devlin doesn't have much choice. She imagines just getting through her last year at school peacefully, but how wrong she is. When she meets Darius Montague, the boy who sits by himself with those cold heartless eyes, the boy who has an aura that screams dangerous, Variel might find herself in more trouble than she realizes. And in different ways than she thinks...
