Scarlett hears the faint whisper of a man yet it is difficult to decipher their coded talk as the pain travels, using Scarlett's veins as a transportation system. Eyes squeezed tight as to fight this poison coursing through her, Scarlett allows her mouth to fall agape to what she thought would be a scream of agony. Nevertheless, no sound reaches her ears.
