People think the Emirates is loud.
It's not.
Not really.
If you stay long enough-past the cheers, past the cameras, past the noise-you start to notice the quiet things.
The way footsteps echo in empty corridors.
The way the grass looks darker just before sunset.
The way people become... smaller when the crowd disappears.
That's the part I liked.
The quiet.
The part no one stayed for.

I didn't turn immediately. I didn't need to.
I already knew who it was.
"And you always sound like you're about to say something unserious," I replied.
He laughed. Soft. Unoffended.
"Maybe I am."
That was the thing about him.
He never forced his way into a moment.
He just... stayed long enough for you to notice him.
