"His kiss was poisonous and it would have killed me if I weren't already dead. " In a kingdom ruled by a dark queen, only one hope remains. Snow White, the beautiful princess who’s heart was as pure as a white rose. People say she is locked up in the highest tower of the castle, trapped, a prisoner inside those walls. Others say she can never save them. Snow White was ignored by the Queen everyday until, on her eighteenth birthday, she stole the title of fairest of them all from her. Outraged, she sends her guards to get her and kill her only to learn that Snow had escaped. Outraged, the Queen dipped an apple in poison to finish Snow White off. A poison so powerful, it could stop anyone's heartbeat at a simple bite. But, the Queen didn't stop there. Out of the apple, she made a Prince. A handsome poisonous prince, who's kiss could kill anybody. A prince, sent to kill Snow White before she rebelled against the Queen for good. And that's how our story starts, where Snow becomes a fighter, the Prince becomes a killer and hope becomes a flame. This is a dark fairytale retelling with action, swordfights, cursing, etc so don't read if you're not old enough too. “My lips are the guns, my smile is the trigger, my kisses are the bullet, label me a killer. “

Sixteen-year-old Mila has caught the attention of the (soon-to-be) widowed king. She, however, has no desire to be queen, much less the wife of the disgusting old man. She longs for the freedom to develop her rare and forbidden gift of magic and to choose a future with her lifelong best friend, Alfrid. But what little hope she has for autonomy is lost when the Queen of Direwood plummets to an untimely death. She soon finds herself the reluctant bride of the vile, controlling king, step-mother to his dead-eyed twelve-year-old daughter and an unprepared participant in the trials of court politics. Her only comfort comes from the apothecary-who offers the young queen an opportunity to cultivate her magic and a plan to secure her future. But in time, the entire palace begins to doubt Mila's ability to provide an heir. Desperation turns to resentment when she discovers the king's mistress is with child. But it is the vindictive actions of the king that lead Mila to realize that he'll destroy her if she doesn't destroy him first, tempting her to use her gifts in darker, dangerous ways.
