It's a bad word, 'belong.' Especially when you put it with somebody you love ... You can't own a human being. Therfore I'll take my knife to you, if that's the case. I'll carve my name in your breast so that every beat of your heart will remind you that you are mine-and mine alone. Because blood is binding, and becuse I cannot see you in the possession of another. And most frequently, I have trouble letting go of you because I can't stand the idea of its loss.
