Anakin Albright, the gray cloaked man, blames the world for the death of his wife and seeks to avenge his loss upon a group of people he lures using their greedy obsessions to an island abandoned by an ancient culture to the deadly creatures that now reside there.  When Conlan awakes on the beach after a shipwreck, he is immediately confronted with the creatures hunting the living on an island known for death.  He soon discovers a beach full of survivors wrapped in chaos, many unaware of the dangers around them, and intent on following their own selfish paths.  In order to live through the dangers of the island Conlan must unite the band of survivors, discover why the gray cloaked man wants them dead, and accept a destiny he never knew existed while combating the enemy hidden within his own ranks.

As the death count rises from the traitor within, the group must discover who the traitors are before there's not enough living to make it off the island. With allies clashing against allies, ties some have with the ancient Manarian people will be overlooked as a stronger enemy is revealed manipulating Anakin as Anakin was manipulating the survivors.
