Rumpelstiltskin - retelling

This is a modern spin on the original fairytale Rumpelstiltskin. As a child for some reason I feared Rumpel's character so I chose to retell it in a way that is...less scary with no tiny beast looking man involved.

Adele is a girl from a small town that was sold to the highest bidder by her very own father who has a terrible gambling and drinking problem. Stuck in a new life she longs for nothing but her freedom.

Officer Rumpel out on a night patrol with his partner came up on a accident with only one surviver. The man whispered something to Rumpel that will change his life forever.
