In the early 1800's, the younger brother of a Great Warrior named Atsa, is kidnapped, tortured and killed by the Apache Indians. He returns to seek revenge but dies in battle. The Apaches want to defile his body, but at night a small group of Warriors from his tribe escape with his body from the Apache village. A chase ensues thru the plains, mountains and forest between tribes that both want Atsa's body. Faced with freezing cold, blizzards, wolves and mountain lions, tribal attrition occurs.Against all odds, the last member of his tribe is able bury Atsa's body under a tree before he freezes to death. Tom goes off on his own to purchase a small piece of land and settles into a new town. The gang in the town wants him to leave but he is a formidable foe and decides to stay. He falls in love with Sarah, an Indian woman who subsequently becomes his wife. She is assaulted by the men in town and Tom exacts revenge. In retribution, they attack Tom's cabin looking to kill him. In the process of defending her family against the assault, Sarah is mortally injured, and her young daughter Samantha is kidnapped. Her body is inadvertently buried under the same tree as the Great Warrior Atsa. Molly is Sarah's horse. During the process of mourning Sarah, she assumes the power of the Great Warrior Atsa and Sarah. Through many travails, Tom realizes Molly is not the horse he thought. Faced with overwhelming odds, will Atsa, Sarah and Tom succeed in bringing Samantha home alive?
