Take a world filled with akuma, bring in a holy order that take down akuma and save countless of lives and a particularly odd 'family' of 'God-chosen' ones (who are, essentially, akuma) that try to take down the Black Order and make the world an actual living hell and you get a pretty messed up world.
    
    Now, throw a woman who has been confined to a forest most of her life, the oh so pretentious Bookman jr. and a year long, forbidden, budding romance where both parties refuse to admit to their feelings for each other because of the consequences into the mix and you get a extremely messed up world.
    
    Ah, but alas, it is a long and profound story of, not only their romance, but of their lives too - and the question is; will they get their happily-ever-after? 
    
    Or will their hearts turn to ash? 
    
    Much like that of an akuma infection, some would say.
