Karen Goodwin, a rising high school student in Japan, has found herself with a bit of a problem. Due to some bad luck, she failed her entrance exam. Desperate to find a backup school or face deportation without a visa, she meets a mysterious principal who offers her admission to his school.
Karen thought her problems were solved, but upon arrival at her new school, she finds it's a school for gods and yokai, and what's more, she's been elevated to the position of a shinto goddess!
Now Karen must learn the ins and outs of her new existence and find a suitable yokai to serve as her familiar, but, being demons, there are no shortage of yokai looking to eat a weak god to gain divine powers for themselves.
