After stabbing and killing her mother's current boyfriend and being dumped at some rest stop outside of Pittsburgh by her pastor/lover, sixteen-year-old Armory Stanton finds herself a ride to a small town of Havana, West Virginia, a haven for magical people. Armory discovers that she is immune to all magic; she can't be helped or hurt by magic. With this immunity, she becomes the new sheriff. As she tries to navigate her new responsibilities, friendship, and love interests, bodies are piling up in Havana. The evidence points to Armory's new friend Lil, but she knows that Lil isn't the one killing other powerful magical people. Can she prove Lil's innocence and catch the real killer or will she have to kill Lil according to town law?
