"Dragnaple has no place for scrawny, malformed, spectacled, wanna-be heroes." Meadow Grass isn't what most would consider a "normal" hero, and definitely not like the characters he reads about in his books. He stutters when he talks, tinkers instead of destroys, and is an absolutely lousy fighter. But, if there is one thing he's learned from his short time as a Defender, it's that heroes are never the ones everyone expects. And now he is going to have a chance to prove it. Something's gone terribly wrong in Dragnaple. A new villain has escaped the Dark Realm and is brainwashing a ll of the tribes to become the evil versions of themselves. When that same darkness takes control of everyone on his team except him, he will have to find the courage inside of him to rise from the shadows, save the realms, and maybe discover himself along the way. "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing." ~1st Corinthians 13: 1-3 A/N: Theme Song: "Saviors of the World" by Skillet. //Book 2 in the Defenders series//
