Skylar Caperfield has enough to be fairly happy. She has food, water, a house, and a family. Well, sort of a family. Her "family" is slowly drifting apart. It all started with the horrible news that her older brother Mikey had cancer. It all went downhill from there. She caught her parents fighting one night. And that night her dad got drunk-he said it was just an accident. But Skylar knew better. She decides to run away, but when she does she discovers something hidden in an old tree house and a secret her family kept from her for fourteen years.
