And within the forest is Avi, a mischievous and untrustworthy god, who seems to enjoy watching it.

As Isla and the peculiar team of the Department of Lost Things reluctantly help Jade find her family, while working on a case for a major goddess with a major attitude, they struggle with everything human and powerless, and other things more sinister that lives very close to home.
