The genderqueer zookeeper of a city-sized steampunk airship is dragged into a criminal investigation, when a missing animal and a series of murders starts to look like a terrorist attack. All the while they and their upperclass wife try to conceal their polyamorous relationship from the judgemental eye of the public.
