Prelude #1: Before the Storm

"Airships will change the world."

I'd always believed this, ever since I heard of the first prototype airships being constructed and tested in the city of Karancia. They would be grand, graceful machines floating overhead like majestic clouds, capable of taking me-and the one person closest to me-off to faraways places... if I could but afford it.

Living in the cold Tri-Cities, sharing a border with the aggressive Musean Empire to the south and a barren wasteland inhabited by automated killing machines to the north, airships are, perhaps, our salvation. But perhaps, just perhaps... I should have considered that we weren't the only people in the world developing airships.

As I return home to Tantagal, greatest of the Tri-Cities, after a month away, the only thing on my mind right now is seeing my beloved Marielle.

The winds of change blow strong today... and there are storm clouds on the horizon.
