Izel grew up in Valentine, Texas. The town name is misleading, there was nothing loveable about it. She just wanted out of Texas so when it came time to go to college she did just that, she found a way out. She was accepted into medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. This is a way out and a way to make her parents proud.
