On the morning of the anniversary of her grandfather's disappearance, 12-year-old Bonnie Hill barely bothers to acknowledge it at the time. The trauma of that day was too much for a lot of people to bear, let alone a small child. She simply thought that she could ignore it like any other day. As the day progressed, she is finally forced to face the physical and emotional trauma that she experienced on that day. Meanwhile, her grandfather, Thomas Hill, learns that paradise is not something that can ever be manufactured. The confines of his cage seem to be invisible to everyone else but him. The cage bars that seemed to only surround him quickly turned him into an outcast. Both struggle to discover what happened to them on the day of the 'Silent Massacre' while trying to find a way back to something resembling happiness.
