Catching the Sun

Lena has a problem. Not your normal zit-on-the-face kind of problem, but a BIG problem. A dilemma would be a better way of describing it. In her family a promise has to be kept. No matter what. Like the promise that bonded her mother to her father or her grandmother to her plants. They have to keep it.

In fifth grade, overcome by the sudden euphoria of a first ever crush, Lena promised something that she was sure was impossible.

She promised to give him the sun.

Now battling the added stress of high school, Lena has to find a way to fulfill her promise. Or else she disappears, forever.
