"To the left and right, the trees were drawing closer and closer. The wind blew at my back as if it wanted to throw me off the cliff. The cliff. The abyss right beneath my feet. I gathered all my courage, took a few steps back, started running ... and jumped." You lose your memory. That's what they say, happens, when you cross the fence. The very person of you fades into the fogginess of oblivion. What comes out on the other side, once the fog has lifted, will be nothing but the empty shell you left behind. I knew this. I knew this very well. It had been recited to me countless times. Over and over again. And yet, what really happened was reserved solely to the one, who dared to take the leap. And I knew I was different. I always had been. The two voices in my head had been fighting for as long as I could remember. They had slowly melted into one and I was no longer able to tell them apart. Had I another choice? I was running out of options, just as I was running out of breath. Staying in the North meant losing myself to darkness. Going over the fence meant losing myself to oblivion. But if the person I was, was really meant to die, then I would choose to be free. I took a deep breath and counted down from ten. Goodbye, Fenrok. Whatever happens next, is Fenn's part of the story.
