At Wellsbury High, I was accustomed to seeing Matthew Press, also known as the local sociopath, roaming the halls with an air of mystery and danger surrounding him. Part of a clique that exude power and influence within the school. I, on the other hand, was just a regular student trying to navigate my way through the social hierarchy. Most of my classes seemed to align with Matt's schedule, and I couldn't help but feel a mixture of curiosity and unease whenever our paths crossed. Despite his reputation, I had managed to stay on the periphery of his world, content with my small circle of friends. Hunter was a part of his group, but he was also my friend. However, everything changed on the first day of Dumb Kid English when our teacher assigned us a group project - and I found myself paired with none other than Press. As we begrudgingly worked together, I began to see a different side of him - a vulnerable, even human side that I had never expected. Our collaboration forced me to confront my preconceived notions about him and ultimately led to a newfound understanding and respect between us.
