Red Bull, in an effort to improve their chances of victory in the upcoming Constructors' Championship, have reached out to Ferrari fan favorite Charles Leclerc. Leclerc has agreed to a deal for the 2025 season, which will place him in the car currently driven by Sergio "Checo" Pérez. The news struck a negative chord with current World Champion Max Verstappen, who is aware that Leclerc will likely be a strong competitor for the title-one that Verstappen is unsure he can definitively secure. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner did not want to bring in a driver who would challenge Verstappen, but with a depleted driver market and no reserve drivers or rookies showing sufficient experience or passion to deliver the necessary points, Horner was compelled to reach out to the Prince of Monaco.
