"...This is not a story about the meaning of life or Christmas, it's just a sad chronicle of 24 days of damn advent, a family quarrel, and then a binge..." Carmen has a life she hates and feels very lonely. Christmas and the perfect social media posts only sharpen her misery. Her dysfunctional family not only expects her for the Christmas dinner but also wants her to pay for it so they can use it as an engagement party for her cousin; nothing could be worse. Amidst this scenario, she assembles an advent calendar with fortune cookies that soon start to give her quite accurate messages. At the same time, she reconnects with an old friend from the past who is as lonely as she is. In 24 days, Carmen's life will take a 180-degree turn that will force her to see things in a new way while she learns to take control of her destiny. Sprinkled with Christmas imagery and seasonal music, this story is at the same time an ode to pop culture and a journey through all those things we think but never say.
