Remote mind control of devices, pseudo-telepathy, and virtual realities almost indistinguishable from real life are all being explored. However, the technologies are so new and potentially dangerous that regulators have intervened and imposed a global moratorium on development until legal reviews and safety protocols are established.

Despite this, a rogue Neuro Link developer decides to share their prototype through private forums to continue its advancement. Two teenagers, Naomi and Billy, discover the illicit software and are quickly captivated. Initially excited by their immersive experiences, they soon confront dire consequences as malware infects their systems, leading to debilitating migraines and memory lapses.
