My eyes darted left and right, raking across the sky as my world slowly fell apart. "Matthew..." A ghost or some other whispered my name, repeatedly. "Matthew..." There was no way that this was real; that I was still alive. I saw the faces of people who had died before me, and also the bright face of Heath, the guardian of souls and the Reaper of them, too. He reached out his hand, to take me with him, a small smile on his face as he was reaping the soul he wanted above all mortal desires. My only compensation was that, at the end, my mother's voice was bringing me home. And that I got to spend eternity with the person I loved above anything now. -

Death. A terrifying concept. But what about when YOU are Death? Is it still so scary of a thing, or does it mellow out now that you are the one cursed to replace the old Death. You had been around in the Dark Ages, replacing the old Death, and working alongside the Boogeyman, but you never liked Pitch -his more recent name-. You never killed for fun, but for the dead ones. Pitch saw it as striking down anyone you wanted, which you could, but wouldn't. You never spoke a single word to Pitch, so he grew to believe you were a mute Death.
