the longer a person is in a coma, the less likely they are to wake up. most comas do not last for more than a few weeks, but there are people who are stuck in the sleep-like state for months, or even years. the stories of the people waking up are quite remarkable, but nothing can top tiane devereux's experience.
in november 2014, twenty-year-old tiane was hit by a car while crossing the road. she was still alive when the drunk driver fled the scene, but her head injuries were extensive, causing her to fall into a coma for five months.
when she awoke in 2015, she thought it was the year 2009, the year she was fifteen, depressed, suicidal and lost. in 2009, she didn't know one direction existed.
more importantly, she didn't recognize her boyfriend- harry styles. she thought he was someone who worked at the hospital. she thought he was her shrink.
