When Rowan Chase goes to a museum, she's excited to see the historic things in the museum. Then she meets Oliver Grace. While Rowan has lived with her adoptive 'dad' in London, she didn't know that this was her actual father and he told her that she was adopted to save there family's secret. While  her twin brother has traveled the world with their real mother, the brilliant Zodiacicalogist, Dr. Miranda Grace.

One day, Dr. Grace brings Oliver for a "research experiment" at the British Museum of Ancient Mythology but is happy to see that Oliver has met Rowan and has asked her to come along with them for the tour, where she hopes to set things right for her family. Instead, she unleashes the Zodiacal god Taurus, who banishes her to oblivion and forces the children to flee for their lives.

Soon, Rowan and Oliver discover that the gods of the Zodiac are waking, and the worst of them--Taurus--has his sights on the Graces.
