"Outsider"(short story)

"A glimpse into the life of those civilized enough to destroy the mind and body of there fellow man"

Set in a world of ruins, a scavenger ventures from the town of Akoumb to explore the ruins of the old city. A storm strikes him and he is saved by "The Alighted", a group of technology worshippers who praise the old way of life before the fall.

They have re-shaped all of mans old tools and ways of life, but they have not the heart of the old world, and instead have its teeth and its claws.
